Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th Grade Students:
I just wanted to take this opportunity to emphasize the
responsibilities of the student
in 7th grade Math. Please read and
discuss this with your child.
Classwork:
- All Classwork must be kept in the Math Notebook.
If a student is absent, he should copy the notes, data, or the entire investigation from a friend . They must be in the student's Math Notebook!
All class notes, investigation work, follow-up questions, reflections, experimentation ideas, conjectures, or any work completed in class must be kept in your notebook.
All writing will follow the Step Up To Writing format.
Homework:
- - All assignments are to be recorded in the student’s dayplanner
All assignments are to be turned in on the due date.
All assignments are to be done according to the instructions, in pencil.
All assignments must show all the work or steps used to reach a solution.
Answers only will not be acceptable..
All homework should be kept in the notebook.
All homework should follow the team format protocol:
Complete Heading
Write Question
Answer in complete sentence.
Make-Up Work:
- It is the STUDENT’S RESPSONSIBILITY to aquire the make-up work. The student should get the phone
numbers of several friends to call to ask about assignments. Also, if a student is absent, she should check the homework page for the assignment.
- All assignments must be made up if a student is absent from class regardless of the reason for the
absence.
Classroom Conduct and Expectations:
It is my expectation that each student will be on his/her best behavior during class and will treat others with
respect. Each student is expected to come to class on time and be in their assigned seat ready to learn.
I truly believe that every child is capable of success in this class, and so it is expected that they will do
their very best everyday. Anyone interfering with the teaching and/or learning process will be dismissed
to the main office on a disciplinary referral.
In Closing:
Thank you for your time and efforts in emphasizing to your child the
importance of a good education. The 7th grade is an
exciting time when students must take responsibility for
themselves and their education. The time you spend
encouraging and supporting your child is appreciated and we will
all benefit from this effort. If you have any questions,
comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school.
I look forward to working with you and your child.
